Dinner with Friends is Always Great Fun

Yesterday was a very busy day for the West family. Thomas had a soccer game fairly early in the day, so dad and I, not wanting to waste any time just sitting around, went out to his favorite coffee shop to play a game of cards.
Thomas' game went fairly well, it was the first time his team won which was good. However, both he and Dad said that while Thomas was dribbling the ball down field a larger boy game up and "judo flipped" him. Sounds like it would hurt.
Then, while Thomas had his soccer game, Mom and I got to chill out at home watching some Top Chef, but we had some work to do too. We made chocolate covered strawberries for the dinner that we were going to have later that evening with some family friends. But before that could happen I had a soccer practice to go to.
My indoor and outdoor soccer coach had organized a practice for our team at Windy City Sports. He brought one of his friends who I'd played outdoor soccer with before so he could get some practice in as well. We had some passing drills and then a nice long 3 v 3 scrimmage with the teams switching every once in a while. It was really fun and I hope we can do it again some time.
Then Dad and I drove straight from soccer to our dinner. As always, it was hard for all of us to agree on just one restaurant to order from so we ordered from two. Dad and I got sushi while everyone else got Korean. We had a great time sitting around talking with our friends and eating great food. Then we brought out the finale, Mom's homemade brownies surrounded by our succulent chocolate covered strawberries. Everything was DELICIOUS!

Finals and Report Cards

During January, I experienced my first experience of finals at Whitney Young. I took a final in each class and according to my report card i did pretty well. I got straight A's but came pretty close to B's in Algebra. I had a B according to my grade on edline, but I was almost certain that that grade was incorrect since it showed my final test score at being a 5% which I was almost positive I didn't get. It turned out I was correct and i held my straight A's.
Thomas also got straight A's which added on another consecutive quarter of straight A's in the West family. We celebrated by watching a movie. I watched Slumdog Millionaire and Thomas watched Home Alone. It was a great week.
